Fish Fry (with a slight twist)!!!!!

Fish is one of my favorite food almost in every form be it fried, baked or curry. My love for fish only increases every time  I prepare it.  It definitely takes more time to cook however it's worth it; considering it's health benefits compared to other non veg dishes. Today I am sharing a very simple fish fry dish. Unlike India where fresh water fish is easily available had to make do with the fish fillets in the US......however the results are not bad at all.  There is a slight twist in the recipe as we would generally use just turmeric powder, salt and red chili powder to smear it however have modified the recipe slightly as it tastes even better with the ingredients mentioned below.
Let's get started with this simple dish with readily available simple ingredients in the kitchen.

Ingredients Required:

Ingredients
Quantity
Fish fillets (cut in pieces)
2
Turmeric powder
11/2 tsp
Green chillies (chopped fine)
1 to 2
Garlic grated
1 tbsp
Ginger grated
1 tsp
Cilantro leaves chopped fine
2 tbsp.
Oil for frying
 2 tbsp.
Lime juice ( at the time of serving)
1 tbsp.
Salt
To taste
Onions sliced
As needed

Method of Preparation:
  • Wash the fish fillets thoroughly and cut them in small sizable pieces.
  • In a bowl mix turmeric powder, green chillies, garlic, ginger and salt thoroughly.
  • Now smear this paste on both sides of the fish fillets; let it rest for about 10 minutes.
  • Pour oil in the frying pan and let it be warm enough; now place the fish fillets
  • Allow it to be slightly brown and then flip it carefully without breaking it
  • Once both the sides are brown place the same on a plate and squeeze some lime juice on it
  • Serve hot with some sliced onions. This can very well be had with steamed rice; dal or have it just like that :-)
Enjoy cooking!!!!
